Rwanda to host the 2026 African Peering and Interconnection Forum (AfPIF)

The African Internet Exchange Points Association (AFIX) is pleased to announce that Rwanda will once again host the African Peering and Interconnection Forum (AfPIF), with the 2026 edition set to take place in the vibrant capital city of Kigali. This will be the second time the country welcomes the continent’s premier peering and interconnection gathering, following its successful hosting in 2022, an event that marked AfPIF’s return to in-person meetings after the 2020 postponement caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2026 forum will be organized by the African IXP Association (AFIX) in collaboration with the Rwanda Internet Community and Technology Alliance (RICTA), with valuable support from the Internet Society (ISOC) another partners

Rwanda continues to position itself as a regional leader in digital transformation, driven by significant investments in technology, innovation, and knowledge-based economic development. Kigali has rapidly emerged as one of Africa’s top technology and innovation hubs, attracting startups, investors, and global tech stakeholders.

The city’s  strong national commitment to advancing ICT has made Kigali a destination of choice for major international technology events. Its reputation for safety, cleanliness, and modern urban planning further enhances its standing as a leading global business and conference destination.

We are thrilled to be heading back to Rwanda for AfPIF 2026. Stay tuned for the venue announcement and other key updates early next year!
